KARSTEN INTERIOR SERVICES WINS ‘BEST PICTURE’ AT THE AGC VIDEO IN CONSTRUCTION AWARDS

More than 300 AGC Houston members gathered at The Briar Club on January 30, 2020 for the annual Business Meeting, which featured former Harris County Judge Ed Emmett. At the sold out event, President/CEO Jerry Nevlud introduced the recipients of the Videos In Construction award winners who received a one-of-a-kind 3-D printed award sponsored by Gilbane Building Company. Karsten Interior Services was awarded ‘Best Picture’ for a safety training, project information piece produced by Josh Merritt with Merritt Creative. 


“Since it was our first go, we thought that we would have some fun with the process and utilize the categories as described on the website of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences – home of the Oscars,” stated Nevlud. The entries ranged from promoting safety and best practices, to recruiting and training, promoting diversity and inclusion, as well as celebrating project and firm milestones.

This annual awards programs features individuals under 40 years of age who have shown exceptional leadership and service throughout their Career. 

This year, the program had 69 entries from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas, the most of submitted to any of ENR’s regional editions. The candidates were then judged by the following criteria: industry experience and education; career and industry leadership; and community service and involvement.
